Queen Mary

Monday April 4, 2005
Queen Mary rests in the Long Beach harbor, converted into a hotel and tourist attraction. Guides' voices echo in the now-empty engine room, where 27 boilers once generated 160,000 horsepower. At today's oil prices, it might cost more to run the Queen Mary than it did to build her, but the folks who run the attraction have a special just for these gas-concious days.

Now through April, show a March or April 2005 gasoline receipt and get general admission discounts: $8 off adult tickets and $6 off children's.
