Forbes Island

Wednesday September 28, 2005
You have to take a boat to get there. It's got live palm trees, a sandy beach, a waterfall and a thatched Tahitian room. There's even a lighthouse. By all outward appearances, Forbes Island appears to be a real island, but there's a catch. It's actually a 50-foot wide by 100-foot long, self-propelled motor vessel, originally built by its owner Mr. Forbes Kiddoo as a floating home. It's moored next to Pier 39.

You may not be able to sunbathe on the beach on this island, but you can have a meal at the restaurant. Just catch the boat from H Dock.
