Red Barn Studio
Thursday November 9, 2006
When you travel in California, you find bits of rock 'n' roll history in the oddest spots sometimes. While on a Hidden Gardens Tour in Big Sur this summer, I stumbled across the Red Barn Recording Studio, just off the road to Pfeiffer Beach. Al Jardine of the Beach Boys created the studio as a place to escape and work on his music, dismantling an old barn and rebuilding it to create a comfortable recording space. Today, the studio is also open to other recording artists, and the garden is open to the public during the annual garden tour.
