Tell Me Where to Go
Thursday January 15, 2009
Once again, it's time for you to tell me where to go next. Which place in California do you want to know about the most?
- The desert (Joshua Tree, Anza Borrego, Salton Sea)
- Owens Valley (Bishop, Lone Pine, Alabama Hills)
- San Andreas Fault
- Sonoma County
- Lake Havasu
- Resorts in the Sierras
- The Delta
- Lake Oroville
- Sierra foothill towns
If you want to know about someplace that's not on the list, just click "Comments" below and tell us what's on your mind.

How about natural hot springs in CA? Love to visit a few…
Got it already: see http://gocalifornia.about.com/od/topcalifornia/a/hot_springs.htm
How about Monterey and Big Sur areas?
Got that, too: http://gocalifornia.about.com/od/camontereycarmel/
I love gardens-like the Gilroy gardens-are there more like these?
I plan on visiting San Francisco around May 21 for a few days, visiting the wine country and than travel down Cal 1 to Pebble Beach for several nights. I prefer staying at Fisherman’s Wharf. I am a member of AARP and would appreciate advice on best and most economical hotels around the wharf. Thank ou
For Jo Ann:
Go to http://gocalifornia.about.com/od/casflodging for everything you need to know about San Francisco lodging. Frankly, AARP discounts are not usually the best way to go, and you can find better rates by some of the other methods we suggest.
Plan to move to San Diego; been told that the Ocean Beach area would suit my personality. Got info on housing (not hotels) and rental availability/prices in that area. Also, anyway of getting a map that is really specific to that area? Is there a neighborhood that is close to Ocean Beach that I should be referencing rather than Ocean Beach itself?
We are going to San Francisco in October the 11-17th of 2009. We found out by accident that is Fleet Week. I would like more information on Fleet Week, Alcatraz, tour groups, and getting from the airport to Fisherman’s Wharf Holiday Inn Express on BART.
