Fall Foliage in California

By October 3, 2011

(c) Betsy Malloy 2006When it comes to fall foliage, we've got plenty of it if you know where to look, and it's pretty spectacular. In fact, outdoor recreation site GORP says Inyo National Forest is one of the top in the nation for fall color.

Our favorite Fall Foliage-Watch site, California Fall Color says things are beginning to peak at highest elevations, and they'll have continuous updates from people in all the best locations all fall long.

The best place for leaf-peeping may be east of the Sierras around June Lake, and we've got some photographs of previous year's displays just to convince you it's worth the trip.
