Yosemite in Fall

Follow me on:

The crowds will go home when school starts. The leaves will change color soon and Tioga Pass is still open. Why not pack your travel bags for a quick Yosemite getaway?

We've got all the best photography locations, vista points and special events for you in our guide to Yosemite in Fall. And there's a new best place to stay in our address books: Evergreen Lodge, just outside the park on the way to Groveland. It's so nice that we'll be heading back as soon as our schedule allows. Even if you don't want to go to the park itself, this is a great place to get away from it all for a weekend.

Don’t forget the Vintner’s Holidays at the Ahwahnee Hotel in the fall! And look for the only sugar maple tree in Yosemite Valley across from the chapel – turns fire red in October.

Following up from Michelle’s comment, Vintners Holidays don’t start until November and aren’t held during Thanksgiving weekend. Read about them at http://gocalifornia.about.com/od/cayosemite/p/vintner-holiday.htm
