New Winery Finds

We're always on the lookout for new wineries to recommend, and we found a few recently that make our short list of wineries that have great products and offer an outstanding visitor experience.

Our wine country tour guide buddies have been raving about Sullivan Vineyards for so long that I couldn't resist the pressure any longer. At first glance, this small, family-run winery may look like a standard pour-sip-pour experience, but it's also far more. The property is beautiful and on a sunny day, you'll sit at tables beneath towering redwood trees while you do your sipping. A friendly dog may come to greet you and some of the owners' classic automobiles are likely to be parked beside the pond. And if you're even luckier, owner Sean Sullivan will stop by to tell you about the place. Read our review of Sullivan here.

Over in Sonoma, there's another family-owned place, Benziger Family Winery runs a fully biodynamic operation (a giant step above "organic") and their open air tram tours are many visitors' favorite Sonoma experience.  See our review.
