Architecture blog Architizer recently reported that the San Francisco Planning Commission has approved construction of a new Transbay Transit Center south of Market Street. Designed by Pelli Clarke Pelli, the transit hub will be at the foot of what will be the west coast's tallest skyscraper, a 1,070-foot-tall (60-story) steel and glass tower. The transit center will feature an undulating roof, which will form a 5.4-acre garden to be called "City Park." Construction begins soon and the project is expected to be complete in 2015, so if you want a photo of the skyline as it is now, you've got a couple of years to snap it.
