Marin County Nude Beaches
Lots of room and lots to do.

| Driving |
- Take US 101 north
from the Golden Gate Bridge
- Exit onto CA 1 north
- The turnoff toward
Bolinas is very difficult to find and unmarked. It is located at milepost
17.01 coming from the south, and is the first left turn after you pass the
Bolinas lagoon.
Read how to interpret a California milepost marker
- Turn left onto
unmarked Olema-Bolinas Road. The mileposts are labeled C122.
- Follow the road past
the edge of the lagoon to a t-intersection, then turn left
- Follow Olema-Bolinas
Road for 0.5 mile. You will cross a colorfully-painted bridge and pass a
school.
- The next stop sign is
at Mesa Road. Turn right.
- Drive about 3 miles
to the antenna "farm"
- If you miss the turn
above off CA 1, turn left onto Horseshoe Hill Road and drive 1.5 miles to
the stop sign, where Horseshoe Hill becomes Olema-Bolinas Road. Continue
straight ahead, driving 0.5 mile to Mesa Road, then follow the above
directions.
|
| Parking |
- Park on the road just
past the antennas
|
| Walking |
- Where the pavement
ends, go left through a gap in the fence
- Follow the gravel road to a trail on your right leading through a gate
- Follow the trail along the cliff top and down to the beach
- Some guides suggest
driving down the dirt road to a eucalyptus grove to access this beach. However, the dirt road
is very rough and I got a flat tire on it. The walking path is
officially closed, slippery and eroding and is NOT RECOMMENDED.

Laws regarding nudity at the naturist beach vary by location and fines are stiff in
some places. I have made every effort to provide accurate information, but the
responsibility for knowing the law is yours.
Nude or naturist beach neophytes, please be respectful of others and read the Nude Beach and Topless Beach Etiquette guidelines before you go
to a nude beach and check the nudity laws too.
