Lake Yellowstone Hotel is one
of the park's classic hotels, built in 1891 and restored to its 1920s splendor.
The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Lake views
from the lobby Sun Room are excellent.
Lake Lodge, built in 1929 to
accommodate automobile travelers who wanted affordable lodging. It offers more
rustic-designed accommodations, and is built of logs. Guests can enjoy a rocking-chair
lake view from the front porch. The nearby Pioneer cabins were built in the
1920s and 1930s, and the Western Cabins in the 1950s and 1960s
