Visitor Guide to Bisbee

By , About.com Guide

Bisbee, Arizona, a late nineteenth century mining town, was once the largest town between San Francisco and St. Louis. Today, Bisbee is a pleasant stop on a southeast Arizona tour, or a long-ish day trip from Tucson. Bisbee visitors can tour an old copper mine, learn about mining history in the museum and walk through the historic downtown of Bisbee.

Allow a half day or more to visit Bisbee. For a leisurely visit from Tucson, plan to stay overnight. Arrive midday, visiting Kartchner Caverns and Tombstone on the way to Bisbee. Spend the afternoon exploring the Bisbee museum, shops and art galleries, then tour the Queen Mine the next morning.
