Andrew Molera State Beach

By Betsy Malloy, About.com

Andrew Molera State Beach is NOT RECOMMENDED for nude sunbathing. Clothing-optional use has been discouraged by rangers to the point that few nudists still use it. We're leaving this page online just so you know about this.
The San Francisco Bay Guardian says Coyote Flat and Big Sur River, both within Andrew Molera State Park are good skinny-dipping spots, but they are on the river, not on the beach.
Location: Monterey County
Description:
  • Bring binoculars for watching birds and seals.
  • Beautiful lagoon.
  • Often too cold to go nude
  • Nude area is accessible only during low tide
Who's at Andrew Molera State Beach : Mixed group
Andrew Molera State Beach Facilities: None
Andrew Molera State Beach Activities: Sunbathing, bird watching

Laws regarding nudity at the naturist beach vary by location and fines are stiff in some places. I have made every effort to provide accurate information, but the responsibility for knowing the law at Andrew Molera State Beach is yours.

Nude or naturist beach neophytes, please be respectful of others and read the Nude Beach and Topless Beach Etiquette guidelines before you go to a nude beach and check the nudity laws too.
