Pirate's Cove in Avila Bay should not be confused with Pirate's Cove in Los Angeles. This beach is also called Cave Landing or Mallagh Landing.
Location: Near San Luis Obispo
Description:
  • Quarter mile long cove
  • One of the most beautiful nude beach settings
  • No fishermen here, so it's easy to walk without fear of getting "caught."
Mike says: "Such a beautiful cove. There was nudity the whole length of the beach. There was also a very recent looking land slide at about mid cove that extended to the water line. My only disappointment was the gawkers. Several of them strolled up and down the beach, beer in hand, fully clothed."
  • Reports of gawkers at this beach are on the increase, and they are starting to become a nuisance. Women may find them particularly intimidating.
  • Who's at Pirate's Cove:
    • Up to 200 on weekends
    • Suited and not
    • Almost half are women
    • 10 percent families
    • Gawkers on the cliff and on the beach
    Pirate's Cove Facilities: None
    Pirate's Cove Activities: Sunbathing
Pirate's Cove Beach Rating: See what others think.

Laws regarding nudity at the naturist beach vary by location and fines are stiff in some places. I have made every effort to provide accurate information, but the responsibility for knowing the law at Pirate's Cove is yours.

Nude or naturist beach neophytes, please be respectful of others and read the Nude Beach and Topless Beach Etiquette guidelines before you go to a nude beach and check the nudity laws too.
