Elitch Gardens
Established in 1889 as Elitch Gardens, the Denver standby moved to its present site in 1995. It is divided into two sections, the amusement rides and Island Kingdom Water Park. One ticket gets you into both sections. Its 45-plus rides and attractions include a 67-seat, 1925 carousel, musical revues and gardens. Their signature rides include:- Flying Coaster, where passengers ride abreast, giving everyone unobstructed, views of downtown Denver. Coast to the top of the ride on a signature spiral lift hill and swoop back down in a series of twists, turns, cork screws and dips
- Tower of Doom, a 22-story free-fall ride
- The Mind Eraser, a suspension coaster that rises 10 stories skyward and plummets down at over 60 mph
