Red Rocks Amphitheater
Constructed in 1941, Red Rocks Amphitheater centers around two 300-foot-tall rocks, each taller than Niagara Falls, that provide perfect acoustics and a beautiful backdrop for summer concerts. Performers cover a wide range of musical styles from country and western to hard rock and classical. The Red Rocks Amphitheater visitor center and hiking trails are open to the public. The Trading Post Loop is a popular hiking trail here, 1.4 miles long, leading past rock formations, through valleys and a natural meadow. The trails are rough, with steep grades and dropoffs, and hiking boots are recommended. At over 6,000 feet above sea level, the trail may be too challenging for those with health problems. Children should be closely supervised.
