Topographical California Map
This map shows the lay of the land in California, with a flat central valley flanked by mountains on both sides. The lowest point in California and the lowest elevation in North America is in Death Valley at 282 feet (86 m) below sea level. California's highest point is Mount Whitney which is 14,505 feet (4,421 meters) above sea level, making it the highest summit in the contiguous United States. The two places are only 85 miles apart.
