Gammage Auditorium Review

Complimentary 30-minute tours of Gammage Auditorium are given on Mondays, when it is not being used for performances, rehearsals or event set-up. No tours are given on holidays. To avoid disappointment, call ahead to be sure a tour will be given on the day you want to visit at 480-965-0458.

Tours will take you inside the Gammage Auditorium and give you a chance to see the balcony areas. Guides will point out that there are supposed to be 34 shades of terra cotta in the building, accented with aqua/teal. The tour also goes onto the outdoor terrace, where you can see the unusual stucco-and-quartz that Wright used on some of the walls and the meticulously-laid brick. The Gammage Auditorium is a public building, and you will be allowed to take photographs while on the tour.

If you're in Phoenix and discover a show you're interested in is playing at the Gammage Auditorium, chances are you can get a seat, even at the last minute. The Gammage Auditorium season runs for 11 months starting in August.
