Northern White Rhino

Wild Animal Park researchers have learned that without other females around to help them protect their babies, rhinos simply will not breed. This has helped increase the numbers of the black rhinoceros. They hope it will also help save the Northern White Rhino, which according to the tour guide is down to only six individuals in 2008. Oddly, its color is gray, not white - even though it looks brown here from rolling in the mud.
