Cat Tale Endangered Species Park
Visitor Information - Cat Tale Endangered Species Park

By Betsy Malloy, About.com

Founded in 1991, Cat Tales is a second home for many big cats, often "rescued" animals that had been abandoned or abused. Their animals include Bengal tigers, a clouded leopard, African lion, mountain lions, bobcats and many other wild felines.

The zoo offers special events where visitors purchase a "Treat Bag" and hand feed a Lion or Tiger with one of the Zookeepers, or walk within 8 feet of the animals. All visitors can tour the Zoo on their own, learning about the animals from posted signs, or take a guided tour.

A word of caution: If the sight of animals in wire-fenced cages disturbs you, Cat Tales is not for you.
