Where to Sleep and Eat The Zion Lodge is is the only hotel within the park, but nearby Springdale has plenty of hotels and restaurants. Campers will find two developed campgrounds inside the park with some electric hookups, but no showers at either one. South Campground is first come, first served, but arrive before noon during peak season because it fills up early. You can reserve a space at Watchman Campground. You can find private campgrounds with more amenities in Springdale, Virgin and Mt. Carmel Junction. Best Time to Visit Spring and autumn bring the most comfortable temperatures at Zion, with fall color mid-October through November. Summer is the busiest season, and the hottest, with temperatures approaching 100F. It snows here in winter, but the park is open year-round. Summer thunderstorms are common at Zion, and can be spectacular.
