Northeast Arizona Pictures
Navajo Interpretive Center

After visiting Meteor Crater, continue west on I-40 and turn north onto U.S. Hwy 89 just before you reach Flagstaff. Along the way, you can stop at 900-year-old Sunset Crater, the youngest volcano on the Colorado Plateau and Wupatki National Monument, the ruins of a large, rich and influential pueblo in the 1100s.
The Navajo Interpretive Museum is located in Tuba City, a short detour on U.S. Hwt 160. Its exhibits are a must-see if you want to understand the country you will be traveling through as you continue north.
