Delta Bridges

Many roads run along the top of the levees that keep the rivers contained, but sometimes the roads cross the waterways over bridges. This one rotates to let taller boats pass, and is often called a swing bridge. Other bridges that do not move or open are sometimes called "fixed" bridges. If you're boating, you'll need to check the clearance of any bridge along your route.
