This great blue heron is one of the many birds that call the Delta home. About 10,000,000 birds of almost 200 species migrate through the Delta, most of them between mid-October and mid-February. Some of the most common include Sand Hill cranes, snowy egrets and pelicans. We also saw lots of swallows skimming the water's surface and dusk and nesting under the bridges.
