In 2005, luxury condo units opened in Northstar Village. Unfortunately for the visitor, these units are managed by a different company than the one that manages the older lodging, meaning that you may have to call more than one source to find out everything that's available.

You can reserve through Northstar's website and compare prices online, but it's better to call (800) 466-6784 or (530) 562-1010, where a Northstar reservationist can help find the best place for you.

Tripadvisor reviews of Northstar
I stayed in the Northstar Iron Horse Condominiums shortly after they opened. Located in the new Village at Northstar, these units are luxurious, comfortable and are big enough that they feel like a house. Staying in one of the two-bedroom units was such a pleasure that I'm already planning a return visit.
You'll get all the expected hotel amenities: concierge service, high-end toiletries, iron and ironing board, hair dryer and so on, but with a lot more: a fully-equipped kitchen ready to cook in with refrigerator, range, microwave, coffee maker, pots and pans, and dishes. Ski storage is provided downstairs and there's a washer and dryer in case you need it. There's even a high-speed Internet connection (bring your own cable). The only thing you won't get is daily maid service.
Iron Horse is not a budget accommodation, but it's worth the price, especially when compared with other Lake Tahoe-area properties. Go midweek, off-season or in the summer, bring your own food to cook or reheat in the kitchen and it becomes an excellent value for money.
