Our Review of the Pepper Tree:
We love small hotel-owners who create and manage their properties with care and imagination, especially when they create great places to stay at the lower end of the cost spectrum. The Pepper Tree is owned by the same folks who own and run the nearby Lemon Tree, another of our favorite Disneyland area hotels and it exemplifies its owners' signature style, a friendly mix of Australian hospitality and simple pricing.

We stayed at the Pepper Tree shortly after it first opened and again in December, 2009. It remains a nice, clean, well-run place to stay. The decor is warm and cheerful decor, with furniture imported from Guadalajara and thoughtful touches such as plenty of room to put your toiletries and enough hooks to hang up your towels.

The Pepper Tree is a great place for families, with small, equipped kitchenettes in each room where you could easily make a bowl of oatmeal or a sandwich and with plenty of room in the refrigerator for storing cold drinks.

Few places anywhere are as clean and comfortable for such a low rate, and comparable properties for under $100 per night are non-existent in the Disneyland area, making the Pepper Tree an exceptional value for money.

Oddly, rooms at the Pepper Tree don't have alarm clocks, but these days, a cell phone makes an easy replacement.
