Built in 1884 as a residence for Frederick Beringer and designed by Architect Albert Schroepfer, this Victorian-style beauty was meant to recall the family's home at Mainz-on-the-Rhine, Germany. The 17-room mansion cost $28,000 to build, of which almost one-fourth was spent on the stained glass windows.
