Capacity:

Camping is allowed south of Post 2 on the beach and in the open dune area. There are no defined spaces and the length limit is 40 feet. Four-wheel drive is recommended. Tents are allowed.

Reservations are recommended at this popular park. If you don't have them, you can arrive as early as 7:00 a.m. to secure your camping space, but if they are sold out on reservations, you won't be able to get in.

Do not confuse Oceano Dunes with Oceano Campground at Pismo State Beach.

Primary Needs:

Vault and chemical toilets
Water-delivery and holding-tank pump-out services are available on the beach
An RV pumpout station is located on LeSage Drive near the park entrance.

Amenities:

Camping is primitive, with no extra amenities

Recreation:

The most popular activity here is riding off-highway vehicles and ATVs on the sand dunes

Surroundings:

This windy beach has no trees and lots of sand, but you'll wake up with the ocean at your doorstep

Furry Friends:

Dogs are allowed, but must be on leash
