The Bottom Line

The B&B Inn at La Jolla is a favorite of many guests, close enough to downtown to walk and the lovely old house makes it easy to pretend you live there. It's a good choice for almost any kind of trip. However, compared to other La Jolla lodging, it's a little on the expensive side.

Pros

  • Excellent location
  • Very clean and well-kept
  • Friendly, helpful staff

Cons

  • Breakfast is adequate but a bit ordinary
  • Streetside rooms may get some traffic noise
  • If you're reading this at work, music on their website may give your (non-work) activities away
  • Toiletries would be more at home in a budget motel than a fairly expensive B&B

Guide Review - Bed and Breakfast Inn at La Jolla

Most people who stay at the Bed and Breakfast Inn love it. In many aspects, I agree with them. The Inn is clean, cozy and nicely situated just outside the busy part of town, on a residential street and across from the Museum of Contemporary Art. Rooms are nicely decorated with an eclectic mix of antique furniture and kept clean and tidy. The staff is friendly and enthusiastic, albeit at times a bit inexperienced.

It's been a long time since we stayed this hotel. For a more current evaluation, see their reviews at Tripadvisor.
