Tenaya Lodge Review: Tenaya Lodge is located just outside the Yosemite National Park west gate. This well-appointed lodge is clean, comfortable and decorated in a rustic southwest style. Rooms are quiet and equipped with all the standard amenities. The nicer ones have small balconies with nice wood chairs and table and they also have in-room Jaccuzzi tubs.

You'll find little in the way of places to eat in the Tenaya area, but there are three options in the hotel: restaurant, bar and deli. The bar and restaurant share the same kitchen, and in warmer weather the bar seating around the outdoor fireplace is lovely. The deli offers the lowest-priced options, serving sandwiches big enough for two moderately-hungry people to share.

Tenaya Lodge offers a full range of spa services and treatments that include facials and enzymatic sea mud pack treatments, if you can tear yourself away from the beautiful Yosemite area scenery long enough to enjoy them. They also offer deep tissue sports massage, which may be especially nice after a long hike.

If Tenaya Lodge were situated in Yosemite Valley, it would be nearly perfect. However, it's about an hour's drive away. Given the quality of the accommodations, it's still one of the Yosemite area's best values for your money, with room rates considerably lower than the Ahwahnee, which is its nearest competitor in terms of quality.

As is common in the travel industry, the writer was provided with complimentary accommodation for the purpose of reviewing those services.
