Acoma Pueblo
Sometimes called Sky City, this pueblo may be the oldest continuously-inhabited village in the United States, and it's one of New Mexico's best pueblos for tourists.

Chaco Canyon
Chaco Canyon was the major center of ancestral Puebloan culture between 850 and 1250 AD., and the hub of activity in Four Corners area. The people who lived here left behind a well-organized and planned complex of buildings, laid out on a north-south grid and awe-inspiring for their size and complexity.
El Malpais National Monument
Volcanic features such as lava flows, cinder cones, pressure ridges and complex lava tube systems dominate the landscape here.
El Morro National Monument
A sandstone bluff Rising 200 feet above the valley floor with a spring at its base made this spot welcome landmark for weary travelers. Over 2,000 inscriptions and petroglyphs, along with Ancestral Puebloan ruins.
Ice Cave, Bandera Volcano - Grants
A walk through old-growth Juniper, Fir and Ponderosa Pine leads to the Ice Cave, where natural layers of ice glisten in reflected sunlight. You can also hike around the side of the Bandera Volcano to view one of the country's best examples of a volcanic eruption.
Jemez Pueblo - Walatowa Visitor Center
Things to see here include a reconstructed traditional field house, artisan studios and cultural demonstrations.
Pecos National Historical Park
The park preserves 12,000 years of history including the ancient pueblo of Pecos, two Spanish Colonial Missions, Santa Fe Trail sites, 20th century ranch history of Forked Lightning Ranch, and the site of the Civil War Battle of Glorieta Pass.
Very Large Array Radio Telescope
Made famous by the movie Contact, the radio telescope is where scientists explore the heavens by collecting the radio waves generated by objects deep in space.
Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument
An austere reminder of the earliest contact between Pueblo Indians and Spanish Colonials, the park includes the ruins of four mission churches and the partially-excavated pueblo known as Gran Quivira.
Trinity Site
On July 16, 1945, the first atomic bomb was exploded at the Trinity Site, White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. Today, Trinity Site is open to visitors twice a year. About 2,000 people visit every time it's open.
