Tours:
Open every day except major holidays, with free entrance (donation requested). The lantern room is not open to the public, but this lighthouse has the best displays of a lightkeeper's home of any on the Oregon coast.

Getting to Yaquina Bay Lighthouse:
Traveling south on US 101, exit just north of the Yaquina Bay Bridge.

Traveling, north on US 101, exit immediately north of the bridge. While it looks like this exit takes you east side of the highway, it passes under the bridge and leads to the lighthouse.

    Lens: The original, fifth-order Fresnel lens was removed and the current lens was installed in 1996

Yaquina Bay Lighthouse History:
Built 1871, the Yaquina (pronounced Yah-KWIN-uh) Bay Lighthouse was decommissioned in 1874, when the more powerful Yaquina Head Lighthouse was built a few miles away. It was used as a Coast Guard Lifeboat Station afterward and eventually restored as a privately-maintained aid to navigation on December 7, 1996.
