This is their story, and they're sticking to it: In the 1930s, Mickey Mouse built a three-acre community as a place to get away from his hectic life as a film star. Walt Disney was the only human allowed to visit, until 1993 when Toontown opened to the public.

Toontown is one of the park's most charming area, so cute that the legend of its origin is almost plausible. There are no straight lines and no right angles, and even the bus wobbles around on odd-sized wheels.

Toontown closes before the fireworks begin, to keep you safe from falling embers. Sometimes it opens again afterward, but you should check the daily schedule board to find out what the schedule is on the day you visit.

Use the Guide to Toontown to find out why this is the best place to meet certain characters and get tips for the rides.
