Our tour starts at the intersection of Melrose and N. San Vicente in West Hollywood. It's easy to recognize the distinctive architecture of the Pacific Design Center. Designed by architect Cesar Pelli, one of the ten most influential living American architects according to the American Institute of Architects. This stylish building is the West Coast's largest resource for cutting edge furniture and home decor. It's open Monday through Friday only, and while you can browse around, you'll need a resale license to buy anything.
The Museum of Contemporary Art at Pacific Design Center sits on the same site, a 3,000 square-foot gallery focusing on architecture, design and art exhibitions. It's open Tuesday through Sunday.
Photographers, beware. Even though I was on a public sidewalk when I took this photo, I was hassled by a burly security guard with a menacing demeanor.
